Dear graduate community,
On behalf of the Graduate Student Association I would like to take your attention to a survey for graduate students at Jacobs University Bremen on career perspectives, plans and needs for assistance in career decision processes. The survey is prepared by the Graduate Student Association in collaboration with the university administration. The aim the survey is to identify the divers career plans you may have for post-graduation as well as your current needs for and interests in career services at Jacobs University.
There have been several discussions in the past for a possible adaptation of Career Services Center offers for graduate students, which could not be realized because of the lack of information about the actual needs and the interests of you / graduate students. Still, it is not known how many graduate students have firmly set their minds for a career in academia.
- Who would be looking for employment in the public or private or not-for-profit sectors?
- Who could be interested in establishing (with partners) a new knowledge- or technology-based venture?
- What are the respective services, development options or contact opportunities to which the Jacobs University could / should try to facilitate access?
- Who would be interested in getting to know potential partners and to be supported on an entrepreneurial career path?
These are some of the questions we would like to answer using this survey. A high response rate will help both the Graduate Student Association and the Career Services Center to gain some insight to your needs, interests and career plans. The results of the survey will be made public to the whole graduate community and to the university administration. They will be used by the Graduate Student Association to lobby for and actively support the adaptation of existing career services and the creation of new opportunities for graduate students.
